Tottenham Hotspur head coach Thomas Frank spoke about the defeat (1:2) against Newcastle United in the 26th round of the English Premier League.
"I understand the frustration of the fans. We are in a situation we did not want to be in and we are working incredibly hard to change that. I also think that this situation has been going on for almost two years, to be fair, and it happened at the end of last season. It is clear that we are struggling in European competitions and in the Premier League. This is something that I, the team, the club and the players need to learn to improve our physical and mental preparation to solve this problem."
"Part of it, of course, is due to 11 or 10 injuries, plus one suspension, plus another one today, which certainly doesn't help in a situation like this. Then we have Newcastle, who have been struggling a bit recently. Look at what they are doing on the pitch compared to what they have been doing in the last three years. I think it's fair to say that for us it's a completely different story. I think Newcastle were the better team in the first half. We came back very well. Then I think that was one of the defining moments of our season: we had a pass, then we made a bad pass and defended badly, which led to a 1-2 draw," Frank was quoted as saying by the club's official website.
