Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala has reflected on his performance since the injury he suffered in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup quarter-final against PSG (0-2). Yesterday, February 21, the midfielder played 78 minutes in the 23rd round of the Bundesliga against Eintracht Frankfurt (3-2).
"I need to get back into the rhythm a little bit, but I'm happy with today's game [against Eintracht]. I ran a lot, had some good moments. My mentality is simple: just move forward from game to game and don't think about my feet. I don't need any excuses. If I play badly, I play badly."
You always have to be a little careful. For me, it's best to start gradually and hopefully I'll be in better shape by the end of the season. So I'm happy with the progress I'm making now. I'm doing a lot of extra training, so my leg always feels fresher. Sometimes it feels a little numb. But like I said, I don't need any excuses. When I'm on the pitch, I have to play well and succeed.
"I try not to think about [my operated foot] at all. Sometimes I notice it, or maybe it's my subconscious that makes me do certain things not quite right. But game by game I'm becoming more and more confident in holding my foot. I see myself making progress week by week. I would like things to go faster, but through this injury I've also learned patience," Musiala said, according to Bild.
