English club Newcastle United is looking for a new goalkeeper in the summer, The Athletic reports.
According to the source, the “Kalgamators” are looking for a goalkeeper who is already an experienced player and is able to strengthen the team immediately after the transfer. The club’s management does not have confidence in Nick Pope, and Aaron Ramsdale, who is on loan from Southampton, will return to the club in the summer without the option to buy his rights.
Nick Pope is a product of Ipswich Town's youth system, but his resume also includes spells at Charlton Athletic, Burnley and a number of other clubs. The goalkeeper has been with the Girls since 2022. During that time, Pope has made 126 appearances for the club, keeping 46 clean sheets.
