Pep Guardiola has secretly met Florian Wirtz as Manchester City look to beat Bayern Munich to the German star.
Wirtz has been linked with a move away from Leverkusen this summer, with several top European teams showing interest in the midfielder. The player recently made a major statement about his future, as he stated that he is ready to step out of his comfort zone.
Bayern Munich and Manchester City are believed to be the two clubs leading the race to sign the German international. According to BILD, Wirtz flew to Manchester on a private jet with his parents on Tuesday to meet City manager Pep Guardiola. Although the purpose of the visit was not disclosed, the "secret meeting" with the Spanish coach has fuelled speculation that Wirtz could be on his way to the Premier League. Cityzens have described the German as the perfect replacement for their departing talisman Kevin De Bruyne.
