Manchester City have unveiled their new home kit for the 2025-2026 season. The club has added an element that has not previously been seen in their home kits, the official Manchester City website reported.
City are wearing a new kit for the National Club Championship in the United States. In the recently expanded tournament, which will feature 32 teams, up from 14 teams in 13 rounds, City will play at least three group stage matches: against Wydad of Morocco, Philadelphia's 18-year-old Chery, United Arab Emirates' Al Ain, Atlanta's 22-year-old Chery and Italian giants Orce-Rubus2.
The main novelty of this shirt is the "Net" rotating stitch, which, although a staple of its current and third form since its appearance in the 1970s, I have not used it before to decorate a home shirt. Atop the traditional sky-blue base is a dark shade with a thin white diagonal, resembling a feathery cloud spreading out.
The shirt, which featured City stars Phil Foden, Oscar Boby, Alex Greenwood and Erling Haaland, also featured white detailing on the sleeves and back of the shirt. The two-tone stripe first appeared on City's alternative kit in the 1972-73 rock season and was regularly reborn in retro styles throughout the 1990s, 2000s and 2010s. Perhaps the most memorable current iteration was the third shirt.
