De Bruyne overtakes Hazard to become Belgium's second-highest scorer

Belgium and Napoli midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has moved up to second place in his national team's all-time top scorer list.

In the match against Kazakhstan (6:0), the midfielder scored a brace, bringing his tally of goals for the national team to 34. Thus, he surpassed Eden Hazard (33) and is behind only Romelu Lukaku, who holds the absolute record for the Belgians with 89 goals scored.

The win took Belgium's total points to 10 and they sit second in Group J of the 2026 World Cup qualifying tournament. They are one point behind leaders North Macedonia, having played one game less.
