Napoli and Scotland midfielder Scott McTominay has taken to social media to support his club and national team teammate Billy Gilmour, who will miss the 2026 World Cup due to injury.
"I'm deeply shocked by your injury, brother. Football is a cruel game and you didn't deserve it, keep your head up. The players, the staff and the whole country love you," McTominay wrote in his post. Scotland will compete in Group C of the World Cup group stage with Brazil, Morocco and Haiti.
Let's add that 48 teams will participate in the final round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The tournament will be held from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
