In the last match of the 22nd round of the Fastex Premier League, Shirak Gyumri hosted the championship leader Ararat-Armenia at home. In the previous round, the Black and Whites won 2:0 over Pyunik. Juan Balanyan opened the scoring with a penalty kick in the 23rd minute, and Hugo Oliveira doubled his team's lead at the end of the match.
In the first half, the guests showed active football, attacking the goal defended by Sokrat Hovhannisyan. Two of those attacks achieved their goal, first, in the fifth minute of the match, Ararat-Armenia and Armenian youth team player Arayik Eloyan opened the score (1:0) after taking advantage of a pass from national team member Zhirayr Shaghoyan. The 22-year-old Eloyan scored twice in one game, hitting the goal defended by Sokrat Hovhannisyan (2:0).
In the second half, the team led by Manuel Tulipa was active again and almost all the actions were taking place in the half of "Shirak". Arayik Eloyan and Zhirayr Shaghoyan actively participated in the attacks, and in one of those attacks, Eloyan became the author of an assist, addressing the ball to Juan Balanta in the 70th minute of the match, who tripled the advantage of the Yerevan team (3:0).
Zhirayr Shaghoyan and his teammates did not want to rest a bit with a three-goal advantage, but at the start of the second 45 minutes they stood out with passive football, which Shirak could have taken advantage of, but Ararat-Armenia, feeling that Ruben Karagulyan and his teammates could use the opportunities they were given, began to become more active, as a result of which in the 84th minute of the match Zhirayr Shaghoyan made the score 4:0 after a pass from Paul Ayongo.
Thus, Ararat-Armenia celebrates a confident victory in the away match against Shirak, single-handedly leading the Fastex Premier League standings with 45 points after the 22nd round, while Shirak is in ninth place with 12 points.
