Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has been named the Football Writers' Association (FWA) Footballer of the Year, the Red Devils' press service reported.

Fernandes won the vote, which was taken by 900 FWA members from England and Wales. Declan Rice (Arsenal) came in second place and Erling Haaland (Manchester City) came in third.
In the current Premier League season, 31-year-old Bruno Fernandes has played 34 games, scored eight goals and made 20 assists. Transfermarkt.com estimates the Portuguese player's transfer value at 40 million euros.
