Manchester United manager Michael Carrick will sign a new contract with the Red Devils until 2028, with the option of another season, Fabrizio Romano reported on his social media page.
Earlier, journalist Ben Jacobs also reported that negotiations on the duration of the contract are ongoing, and the "2+1" scheme may be an option.
Carrick took over as Manchester United manager on January 13. His current contract runs until the summer of 2026. Under the 44-year-old, the Mancunians have won 10 of their 15 Premier League games and qualified for the Champions League.
