In the next match of the 25th round of the Fastex Premier League, Yerevan's "Alashkert" hosted Kapan's "Gandzasar", which is the fourth meeting between these teams this season, three of which were in the framework of the Armenian Cup of the Premier League, where Karen Barseghyan's boys eliminated the Yerevan team from the competition.
At the start of the match, “Alashkert” showed active football, “Gandzasar” had moments, one of which could be called dangerous, but they were sporadic. “Alashkert”’s activity bore fruit, in the 14th minute of the match Karen Nalbandyan opened the score with a penalty kick (1:0). “Alashkert”’s activity was noticeable, but at the same time one should not lose vigilance as in the previous round match with “CSKA” where Nalbandyan and his teammates defeated the army team 2:0, but the match ended in a draw (2:2). At the end of the first half, the home team was given the right to a second penalty kick and the team captain, Karen Nalbandyan, doubled his team’s advantage (2:0), becoming the author of a double, Nalbandyan brought his number of goals to 13 in the current season.
The start of the second half was similar to the game against CSKA. With Alashkert leading by two goals, Gandzasar reduced the score difference (2:1) in the 47th minute of the match, with Bertrand Manny scoring for Kapan. The 29-year-old Cameroonian has scored three goals in 22 matches for Gandzasar this season.
Compared to the match against CSKA, the teams were evenly matched, with no red cards, which occurred in the 24th round. Gandzasar was active in the second half during set pieces, reducing the score after one of them. In the last minute of the regular time, Kaio Henrique made it 3:1, returning the two-goal advantage to his team. In the next round, Alashkert will face Charentsavan Van in an away game, in the 27th round they will host Gyumri Shirak at home, Gandzasar will host Yerevan Pyunik at home within the 26th round, and in the last round they will visit Ararat-Armenia.
Let's add that the Pyunik-CSKA match will also take place today. Alashkert is in second place with 47 points, Gandzasar is in eighth place with 21 points in the Fastex Premier League standings.
