Manchester United want to keep the head coach permanently at the club

Michael Carrick will be offered the permanent job of Manchester United manager, The Guardian reports.

Carrick has yet to speak to the club's board about his future, but a source claims that sporting director Jason Wilcox and chief executive Omar Berrada are impressed with the job the coach has done.

Since Carrick's appointment in January, the team has won 10 of 14 Premier League games and secured early qualification for the Champions League.

Manchester United chiefs are also aware that Carrick has the support of the players in the squad and the dressing room, so the source believes that now that the Red Devils have confirmed their return to Europe's elite competition, Michael will be offered a permanent deal.
