Guardiola: I wouldn't work here for ten years even if I won all these trophies

Spanish coach Josep Guardiola spoke about the level of Manchester City in the 2025/2026 season.

"I wouldn't have worked here for ten years, even if I had won all these trophies, if it wasn't for the supportive environment. I still feel great energy and enjoy coming to work on my day off. I was very happy when Gundogan came back to us from Barcelona and said: 'Manchester City is the best, the best.' If they say that, then we are moving in the right direction. That's why we have been playing in the Champions League for 12-14 years. That's why we are constantly fighting for the title. The club is stable in terms of tactics, systems, squad and coaching staff. This is an environment where people feel comfortable," Guardiola was quoted as saying by The Guardian.

Manchester City are on course to win three trophies this season. They have reached the FA Cup final, where they will face Chelsea. Guardiola's side are second in the Premier League (70 points after 33 games), two games behind leaders Arsenal (76 points from 35 games). They previously won the League Cup, beating Arsenal 2-0 in the final. In the Champions League, the Manchester team reached the last 16, where they defeated Real Madrid.
