Aston Villa manager Unai Emery is being considered as a potential candidate to become Real Madrid's manager, talkSPORT reports.
According to the source, the management of the Spanish club has included the 54-year-old specialist on the shortlist of candidates to replace the current coach, and he is one of the leading options.
Emery took over at Aston Villa in the autumn of 2022, and his current contract with the English club runs until 2029. However, it has been suggested that the Spaniard may be interested in working at Real Madrid, especially given the financial constraints of the Birmingham club.
Aston Villa are fifth in the Premier League table with 58 points from 35 games this season. The team continues to compete in European competitions. They will face Nottingham Forest in the semi-finals of the Europa League. The first leg ended in a 0-1 defeat for Villa, with the return leg taking place on 7 May.
Emery previously worked in the Spanish league, coaching Almeria, Valencia, Sevilla and Villarreal.
