Defender Ibrahima Konate will become a Real Madrid player if Florentino Perez is re-elected as president of the Madrid club, El Chiringuito reports.
According to Spanish sources, the current head of Los Blancos has already reached an agreement with the French defender and has effectively completed the deal. However, its completion directly depends on Perez's tenure.
Konate recently left Liverpool as a free agent after his contract expired. Despite interest from several European clubs, Real Madrid remain the main contenders to sign the 27-year-old.
If Perez remains in office after the election, the Madrid club will be able to complete the defender's transfer without paying a transfer fee. It is also reported that in this case, Como midfielder Nico Paz will move to Real Madrid with Konate.
