Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has announced the signing of French defender Ibrahima Konate. The player will join the Spanish giants as a free agent if Perez wins the elections on June 7.
"We are working on all these achievements. I can assure you that if I remain president of Real Madrid, one of the best defenders in the world, Konate, will play for Real Madrid from next season. And he will not be the only top-class defender who joins the team if I continue to coach Real Madrid," Perez was quoted as saying by AS.
Liverpool announced the termination of their cooperation with Konate on May 31. The defender had been with the Merseysiders since the summer of 2021. During this time, the Frenchman played 183 games in all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing four assists.
