Florentino Perez, 79, who won the Real Madrid presidential election with 65% of the vote, has appealed to voters who voted for another candidate, businessman Enrique Riquelme.
"We must remain united, guided by our passion for Real Madrid. I appeal to those who did not vote for me: 'I will do everything to resolve your concerns.'" Perez's words were quoted on the club's official website.
Pérez defeated his rival, Spanish businessman Enrique Riquelme (11,814 votes, or 35% of the vote) and will continue to lead the club until 2030. This will be his eighth consecutive term in office.
