England national team manager Thomas Tuchel has commented on star striker and team captain Harry Kane's missed goal late in the 2026 World Cup group stage match against Ghana. The match ended in a goalless draw.

"Usually for us it's a 100% right goal. It was a big chance, then another chance. We deserved to score. We knew it was going to be difficult. They played even more defensively than in the first game. They defended in a 4-5-1 formation. We accelerated in the first half but we couldn't get the reward for it," Tuchel told the BBC.

Kane's most dangerous moment came in the 86th minute of the match, when the striker had a chance to shoot the ball from five or six meters away, but sent the ball over the goalpost.

England are top of Group L with four points from two games. Ghana is also in second place with four points.
