CHL. "ARARAT-ARMENIA" WON A PASS TO THE SECOND QUALIFICATION ROUND

The champion of Armenia, Ararat-Armenia, faced off against the Latvian Riga in the second leg of the first qualifying round of the most prestigious club tournament.

Ararat-Armenia head coach Manuel Tulipa replaced Alexandros Malis in the starting lineup with Bruno Wilson, compared to the previous game.

In the first half, the Yerevan club created two scoring opportunities, but in all cases the ball did not cross the goal line. The three-time champion of Armenia failed in succession: Zhirayr Shaghoyan and Artur Serobyan.

Inspired by the Armenian representative's failures, Riga restored the lead thanks to goals from Iago Siqueira and Ahmed Ankara. 

The second half was a turning point for Ararat-Armenia, as the Yerevan team took control of the game and made up for lost time. Zhirayr Shaghoyan and Sandro Lima stood out for the Armenian champions.

Thus, for the first time in history, Ararat-Armenia has qualified for the second round of the most prestigious club tournament, where it will face the winner of the Floriana Malta Shamrock Reverse pair. Manuel Tulipa's men will play the first match of the confrontation at home.
