Former Alashkert midfielder Yuri Gareginyan, 32, who recently announced his retirement from football, has joined the coaching staff of Urartu Yerevan.
The press service of the Yerevan club reports that he will be Robert Arzumanyan's assistant.
Yuri Gareginyan has played 254 matches in his professional football career, 242 of which were in the Fastex Armenia Premier League. In 2020, he made his debut for the Armenian national team. The Armenian football player is a champion, cup winner and super cup winner of Armenia. Gareginyan has played 65 matches for Noah (in the 2018/19 season, Artsakh), 53 for Ararat, 47 for the 16-time champion of Armenia, Pyunik, and 27 for Van of Charentsavan.
The last club in Yuri Gareginyan's career was Alashkert, where he played in the 2023/24 and 2025/26 seasons, playing 50 matches.
