As part of the tenth round of the Armenian Premier League, Yerevan's Alashkert hosted Kapan's Syunik.
In the previous round, Alashkert, led by Vahe Gevorgyan, ended the away game with the reigning champion of Armenia, Ararat-Armenia, in a 1:1 draw, while Syunik won 2:0 over Shirak.
In the 29th minute of the match, the Yerevan team opened the score, which was registered in front of the team captain, Karen Nalbandyan. After receiving the status of the winner, “Alashkert” should have shown more active football, but it was the impression that the team wanted to play passive football in this match, as a result of which Karen Nalbandyan and his teammates received the discontent of the team’s head coach, Vahe Gevorgyan. However, with such a game, the Yerevan club tripled its advantage over the Kapan team. First, Masumo made the score 2:0, then in the last minute of the first half, Momo Toure scored the third goal for “Syunik”.
In the 68th minute of the match, "Alashkert" was given the right to a set piece, Karen Nalbandyan from the Thunder scored the opponent's goal, making the score 4:0. Nalbandyan increased his number of goals in the current championship to six. "Alashkert" made the score 5:0 with a goal from Ejike, then the guests reduced the score (5:1) thanks to a goal from Kobe Jones.
Thus, "Alashkert" defeated "Syunik" by a large margin and with 19 points earned, it consolidates itself in fourth place in the tournament table. "Syunik" has five points in its assets and was in 11th place.
