Four-time European champion and three-time world championship bronze medalist Arsen Harutyunyan entered the fray today at the ongoing World Freestyle Wrestling Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan.
In the 61 kg weight category, the Armenian wrestler made a great start and defeated his Mexican opponent 10-0 in the qualifying round. However, in the 1/8 finals, Harutyunyan suffered a painful defeat to Zelimkhan Abakarov. If the latter successfully overcomes the next rounds and reaches the final of the world championship, Arsen Harutyunyan will have the opportunity to hold a consolation match and continue the fight for the bronze medal.
Let us remind you that today Armenia has one more representative: Arman Andreasyan, who will compete in the 70 kg weight class.
