The Armenian national team continues its preparations in high spirits for the 2026/27 UEFA Nations League second round match against Montenegro.
On September 27, pre-match events were held, and Greek Olympiacos defender Nair Tiknizyan appeared at a press conference with the national team's head coach, Yeghishe Melikyan.
The 27-year-old football player spoke about his partnership with Narek Hovhannisyan on the left wing of defense: "All the partnerships that you see on the field, of course, we prepare for it. Our coach prepares for it. As for whether I consider it successful or not, I think the coach should answer. We are fulfilling what was expected of us and the goal we set for ourselves. Since we won the previous game, we justified all expectations. In my opinion, that is the most important thing."
Tiknizyan also spoke about the anthem of the Republic of Armenia, saying, "When I wear the national team jersey, I hear the anthem, I feel a responsibility to the people who worship us."
Yeghishe Melikyan spoke about the opponent, noting, "We have analyzed the opponent, we have a game plan for the game," the Armenian specialist added, adding that tomorrow's match is very important. If we want to be in first place, we have to win, and we have the desire and it is very important not to lose to this team."
Let us remind you that the UEFA Nations League match between Armenia and Montenegro will take place on September 28 at the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium in Yerevan and will kick off at 8:00 PM Yerevan time.
