As part of the fourth round of the UEFA Europa League, the champion of Armenia, Ararat-Armenia, faced off against the Portuguese team, Torres, in an away match.
At the beginning of the first half, the Yerevan club had a certain advantage and was able to create some tension in the opponent's penalty area, but due to a mistake made by the "Black and Whites" on the right flank of the defense, the opponent opened the score of the match thanks to a goal by 26-year-old Jorge Aguera, who was sent off in the 25th minute of the match for a rough tackle on Juan Balanta, leaving "Torense" with ten players.
In the 41st minute, after a pass from Zhirayr Shaghoyan, Karen Muradyan restored the balance of the score (1:1). In the second half, “Torense” tried to become more active, but the Yerevan team was able to neutralize the opponent's progress and in the 58th minute of the match, Bruno Wilson put the guests ahead (2:1).
Let's add that Ararat-Armenia winger Artur Serobyan was positioned on the right wing of the attack from the start of the match, where he did not have the freedom that was given to him on the left wing, from where he was able to pass the ball to Bruno Wilson. The match was full of events: yellow and red cards, goals.
The referee added about six minutes to the match, and two minutes before the end, “Torense” scored twice, making the score 3:2 against the Armenian champion. “Ararat-Armenia” is the only team in the Europa League that has not scored a point after five games.
