Egypt has emerged as a potential candidate to host the 2027 Spanish Super Cup. The country joined the race after Saudi Arabia withdrew due to scheduling conflicts with the Asian Cup. According to Marca, the Egyptian Football Association has submitted a request to the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) to discuss the possibility of hosting the tournament in Cairo.
In addition to Egypt, the United States, Mexico, China and Qatar have also expressed interest in hosting the tournament. However, sources say Qatar's bid is facing difficulties due to regional security concerns, making Egypt the leading contender.
The Spanish Super Cup is scheduled to be played in the first week of February 2027. The semi-final pairings have already been decided: Barcelona will face Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid will face Real Sociedad. The Russian Football Federation (RFEF) has confirmed that it is considering proposals before choosing a venue for the match.
